The image below shows the program in the learn hiragana mode.
You may switch between studying hiragana or katakana any time you wish. The
program keeps a separate record of your progress for each syllabary.
The seven commands on the right are for learning to read the kana.
The program will automatically read each kana and draw it on the blackboard.
The user may press any kana on the keyboard and the program will pronounce
it. The "Record own voice" command lets you compare your pronunciation to
the instructor. A practice exercise is given every time you use the "Learn
New Kana" command and extra exercises are provided.
The "Test Mode" tests to see if you recognize each kana sound
when you hear it and if you recognize each written kana when you see it.
If you make a mistake, the program gives extra practice until you master
each kana.
